Chi Chi- Dark Purple (Party Princess Collection)

Hey guys, today i have a swatch of a Chi Chi polish. I believe i haven't swatched Chi Chi in ages, anyways this particular polish belongs to the Party Princess collection. I don't know it's exact name because they don't label the polishes you buy in the collection so I'm calling it dark purple. These are only available when you buy the whole collection. 

The polish formula was amazing, literally i was shocked when i used this. It glided on perfectly onto the nail and dried super fast. I cannot find a flaw, no jokes. 

It didnt even require much clean up and very easy to use, literally this mani took about 10 minutes including drying time. Now for me that's impressive. It's a lovely purple with a bit of a fine particle glitter effect to it, i don't know if the photo shows it well. Photos don't do it justice.  

I was very pleased with the outcome and got asked by many what polish i used. I definitely see myself using this more often. I don't really use purples much but i think after using this that may possibly change.

The above photos were taken in natural light during the day. The photo below was also taken in natural light however it was taken a little later on in the day. Hopefully this helps to see how the polish looks

Australis- Aqua

Hey guys, i hope you're all doing well. Today i have a swatch of Australis Aqua. I apologise for the photos, they kind of look foggy and not so clear. I don't know what happened. I will do another swatch of this polish but in the meantime here is Aqua.

I think the name is spot on with the colour. If you haven't used Australis polishes before what are you waiting for. They have one of the best formulas I've ever seen and used. They apply very easily and are completely streak free. I used 2 light coats here and i did notice it was a little sheer, so maybe i needed a 3rd coat.

I'm a huge sucker for blue polishes, in fact i have more blue polishes than any other colour and this definitely is a beautiful colour. As for drying time, it was great. It dried really well. So that is always a good thing. I am yet to find a bad thing to say about Australis polishes.

Max Factor - Fantasy Fire

Hey guys, i know i haven't posted much later. I've been absent for a long time, and it is because I'm in Uni now which is taking up alot of my time. I will however try to post more often. Ok enough about that, you're all here to see swatches.

Today i have a swatch of Max Factor Fantasy Fire, which is a gorgeous polish. The polish seems to be a dark blue/purple base with red shine going through it. I'm bad at describing polishes so you'll just have to look at the pictures. The first few photos i forgot clean up, so please ignore that. I will say that the polish itself is sheer, and will require alot of coats before becoming opaque. Which is why I used China Glaze Calypso Blue underneath as the base. These two really go well together. So if you want this look, you both polishes but any dark blue polish will work nicely.

Just take a look at that bottle. It's so pretty, i was in awe when i first saw it in store.

I only needed to use one coat of Max Factor Fantasy fire because i used China Glaze Calypso Blue underneath and i used 2 coats of that however you only really need 1 coat.

If you are to use Fantasy Fire all on its own, which i don't really recommend you'll need several coats. With 5 coats it was still sheer. It is a small bottle so it will be used up before you know it. Using a base colour will help make the polish last longer. You can see with the combo i used that the polish on my nails doesn't look different then the bottle.

Here is what the polish looks like in a dark place. The red doesn't shine as much but is still noticeable and still very pretty.

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat- Sour Apple

So today i have another swatch. It's my first time trying out textured polish and I'm surprised I haven't tried it before. I've always been very fond of smooth finishes but after trying this, i could totally try more. The polish I'm swatching today is Sally Hansen Sugar Coat in the colour Sour Apple.

The colour of Sour Apple is gorgeous. It's really already became a favourite of mine. The formula was great. I was worried that being a textured polish, it would be hard to apply but applying was a breeze. In the photos i have 2 coats but if you applied a good even coat, you could definitely get away with only 1 coat. Drying time was also good, it dried fairly quickly within 2-4 minutes. The texture of the polish is also great. As you can see in the pictures that the texture is very noticeable and definitely looks textured.

Another thing that impressed me is that it stayed on for very long. Usual polishes will tend to show signs of wear and tear on the third day or so when no top coat is applied. If you take a shower, normal polishes will show signs of peeling, if not completely peel off. With the Sugar Coats there was no sign of wear and tear or peeling even though i wore it for an entire week and with numerous showers taken the polish still looked brand new.

Impressed...Yes very. I'm going to have to buy all the other Sugar Coats by Sally Hansen.

Essie- Case Study

So this is the first time I'm swatching Essie polish on my blog. I like Essie polishes so its kind of weird that i haven't swatched them before. Anyways aside from my rambling today I'm gonna be talking about Essie Case Study. Case Study is a creamish brown polish. If you guys don't already know, I'm a sucker for nude, tan, beige and creamish colours so when I saw this in the store i knew i had to have it. 

The photos show 2 coats but this is opaque with one coat if you do a generous coat. However knowing me, i had to add the second coat. Only downside to this polish is that it is so much darker on your nails then in the bottle. Don't get me wrong i love the colour on my nails but i initially picked it up because i loved the colour in the bottle and if i had to pick which I liked better, it would have to be the colour in the bottle then on the nail. I still love the colour on the nail though but not as much as in the bottle. In fact if you look at pictures below(not the top photo cause you can't tell) you can tell the difference between the polish that is in the bottle and on your nail. I do have to say that you can notice a bigger difference in person then the pictures.

Okay enough said about the colour. Applying was a breeze and no clean up which I love. Drying was good, not great but definitely better then alot of polishes and by good i mean that once you painted both your hands, you had to wait 2-3 minutes for the next coat which is not bad. I usually say great drying time to polishes that are done by the time you finish your both hands that you can go straight away with a second coat. Still pretty impressive. The formula was also great. I definitely see myself using Essie Case Study in the future.

Revlon- Blue Lagoon

So today i have a swatch of Revlon Blue Lagoon. Blue Lagoon is a light blue, almost baby blue with silver speckles. The speckles aren't that noticeable on the nail but if you look closely at the bottle you will see them. This polish only required 2 coats 

So the formula of this polish was not the best from Revlon. I've tried better but it wasn't a let down either. It was a little bit thinner then most Revlon polishes. Due to this applying was just a tad trickier. Despite being thin and more runnier then regular polishes, i was surprised when it was opaque at only 2 coats. Being quite thin i thought that it require about 4 coats, so it was plus that it was opaque in only 2 coats. What happened when applying the polish to your nail was that when you brushed it onto your nail, since it was runny, the excess polish from the top of the brush moved quickly down the brush and onto the nail. Adding excess polish onto the nail. I recommend when using this polish to wipe it completely onto the bottle and then brush onto your nail, that way when the excess polish moves down onto your nail, it will be the right amount. Hope that made sense.

Other then that i had no other problem with this polish and was quite happy, even the drying time was great. By the time i applied polish to both my hands, the polish was try so i could go over it with the second coat straight away without waiting. Clean up was also a breeze, in fact there was barely any clean up. All clean up was done when the polish was wet. I just cleaned up using an orange/cuticle stick. 

Do I like this polish? I do like this polish, the colour is amazing, the drying time is great, only downside is its consistency but i learnt how to take care of that. So overall a great polish by Revlon. 

Blue Lagoon is definitely a beautiful colour and it looks so good. Your polish will have shimmery effect once on your nails which you can see in the photos. What I also like is that its quite thin on your nails. I'm not a huge fan of thick polishes because they look all thick and gloppy on your nails. I like it when it looks as though there isn't all these layers on top of your nail( if you know what I mean)

Jigsaw Puzzle Nail Art

So today i decided to do some nail art before i left the house. I was visiting my friends today and literally had 20 minutes before i left. So this i what i came up with. I know its simple but its the best i could do in 20 minutes, i take my time with polish so it only made sense that i couldn't do something pro. I only used 4 things to get this design and i hope you like it. Cleaning up was a bit messy as the polish was dark and dark polishes are a bit of a pain to remove as they stain your nails and skins, you will notice in the pic that around the cuticle area and around my nails aren't perfectly neat. That's because clean up was a pain so i have up and left it a tad messy. Hope you enjoy it anyways

Savvy- Flaming Blue

Im Back!!!!! I am extremely sorry for abandoning this blog. I never planned to but things been very complicated for the past few months that i haven't had the time to post

This polish is called Flaming Blue and its by Savvy. Savvy is only available at Priceline. This polish has an amazing formula, i was honestly amazed and for only $3, guess who is gonna buy more... ME!!!!

It has a very pretty colour and is incredibly blue with a morphing effect in which you see green.

It is incredibly hard to show you the green effect but it is there. It only require two coats and it looks incredibly shiny with absolutely no top coat. I do have a new camera but i actually like my old one better.

Here you can see the polish with its own bottle but its hard to take a picture with the original bottle as it is hard to see the actual colour bcause it disguises with the bottles 

Nail Drama- Pathway To Love(swatch)

I have to say I have caught the frankening(is this even a word) bug. I have been making my own polish lately and today I have another nail polish I made called Pathway To Love. Pathway To Love is a Jelly like nail polish. It contains several different shapes and sizes of glitter as well as colours. Nail polishes base is a red which is very see through. It turned out different to what I had planned but I am still very happy with the results.

Here is a close up of the polish, as you can see there is so many shapes and sizes of glitter

Here it is seen with one coat. It is still see through but with three coats it's opaque. Sadly I don't have photos of it with three coats. It looks a little jelly like here. All photos are taken with no top coat.

All the glitter you see is actually very smooth, my fear was that the glitter would stick out and cause a problem but it was smooth. However a top coat is good to have to make sure no tiny bump or anything bothers you.

Here you can see the polish with two coats and it looks more jelly like in this picture. It is not opaque with two coats however it is still dark. Can you believe it's the first time I've worn red completely on my nails. I'm not such a liker of red polish and have never completely did my nails with red only. This was the first time

Close up of Pathway To Love. So what do you think? Does it look good on its own or should I use another polish as a colour base coat?

My own nail/franken polish

So my friends suggested that I create my own polish since I have such a love for polish. Guess what, I did. I've only made two but I will make even more once I but more empty nail polish bottles. It's so much fun to make and do, so I've decided to call the brand The Nail Drama. When I do swatch them, they will be available in the swatch page of my blog labelled The Nail Drama

The blue polish is called Mermaid Tears. Mermaid Tears is a very sheer light blue polish with a very small amount of glitter. It is very sheer so it needs a similar colour base coat before applying.

The pink polish is called Galaxy 101. Galaxy 101 is a shimmery and semi pearlized pink polish with fine silver glitter and normal size blue glitter. This polish becomes opaque with 2-3 coats. No colour base coat required
